The Butler is a fabulous fine art fox print and a magnificent example of anthropomorphic art but above all he is a truly classic character. Here Diz explains why this crafty character holds such a special place in her heart and imagination.

“My first real foray into anthropomorphic art was painting a variant of this character, The Butler. It was a picture I made as a present for my father, he was in fact the inspiration for it as he often revealed for my delight a very crafty and vulpine expression. He admired foxes and had one as a pet when he was a boy. He would occasionally impersonate one, if that is the right word to use here, and pretend to blow feathers off the tip of his nose.”

British artist and author Diz Wallis specialises in natural history and humorous animal art. Diz’s unusual take on anthropomorphic art means that these limited edition prints are genuinely collectable.
